I find the concept of drinking another animal's milk pretty gross full stop. I have it on my cereal and in tea, but never to drink. Bleurgh. It's for baby cows! I especially don't understand the concept of humans breastfeeding being disgusting, but milk from a cow or a goat? Fine! People are so weird.

I'm really glad I'm not the only one who thinks drinking cow juice is a bit weird. I just imagine everyone running around being attached to a cow's teat or walking around with utters on their head like those beer helmets. Granted, I still drink a glass every now and then, but ... it's still pretty darn weird. Honestly, I'd be less freaked out if they found a way to bottle and sell human milk. At least that makes sense for us to drink.

Do you like ice cream? http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2011/02/25/134056923/breast-milk-ice-cream-a-hit-at-london-store

I like "Super Skim" milk. It tastes and looks just like regular milk, but to be honest, the thing I like best about it is that it tends to last much further past the sell-by date that other milks. I use it for cooking or on cereal.

For drinking, I like lowfat chocolate milk and try to have it every night.

We drink 2% as a compromise but I just switched to putting almond milk in my cereal and smoothies. I think it has a great taste and less calories. If I drink milk though I like the 2%. I actually prefer raw milk to pasteurized milk, but with 5 kids its a little spendy to drink all the time.

I'm with both of you -- drinking another mammal's milk seems beyond strange. Also, the factor that really tipped me toward soy or almond milk is that they last SO much longer than standard cow's milk. I don't drink enough milk (of any origin) to go through a carton in 2 weeks. Soy milk generally lasts 6+ weeks, and I believe almond milk is similar.

I love milk and drink skim. Even the skim supreme tastes weirdly creamy to me. I didn't drink nonfat when I was a kid so it took some getting used to (in college, I think) but now nothing else tastes right. For me, 86 cals/cup vs. 150 cals/cup is a huge difference, because I am consuming it in considerable volume. I guess if you only use it for a splash in your coffee or cereal, it doesn't make that much difference. I would much rather spend the 130 calorie savings on 2 cups on a few bites of chocolate.

Drinking milk is weird, but cottage cheese, whey protein, and butter isn’t? What’s the difference? What about the flesh of the animal? What about eggs? That’s just a chicken offspring/embryo. We are using the resources that are on this earth for us to use, that Is not weird.

At least cow’s milk is naturally occurring; soy almond milk needs to be manufactured.

When I was pregnant, my doctor told me to switch to 2% to avoid excessive weight gain. Now I've tried 1% and don't taste too big of a difference between 1% or 2%... and they have less calories than whole.

I can't drink whole milk. It's too thick for my taste buds. The main thing is that if you account for the calories in it, you should be fine. I very rarely drink milk but I prefer to not waste my calories on it so when I do have some I opt for skim or coconut milk.

Whole milk makes me throw up. My stomach can only handle skim milk which i only use for cereal or smoothies anyway.

I like 1% organic milk. I used to buy nonfat for myself and 2% for my family, but 1% is a good compromise that we all like, and it's less complicated than getting two different kinds.

the way skim milk is processed produces more latose than you can imagine. I'm latose intolrant. 1 teaspoon of the stuff and I'm sick.
