Just thought I would let the UK users know what is in season:

VEGETABLES

    well this is what it says for the US:

    FOODS IN SEASON NOW
    VEGETABLES

    arugula, beet, beet greens, bell peppers, carrots, corn, cucumber, garlic, kohlrabi, peas, radishes, rhubarb, zucchini

    FRUIT & NUTS

    apricots, blackberries, blueberries, cherries, lemons, limes, melon, nectarines, passion fruit, peaches, pineapple, plums, strawberries, tomatoes

    duck, lamb

    mackerel

    I would disagree with a couple there -

    asparagus has finished (to be fair it came early this year)

    wild nettles - I wouldn't eat them beyond about the beginning of June - too tough. Much better to pick them in April/May when the leaves are young and light green.

    But thanks for the list anyway - I am a big fan of seasonal stuff.

    I was disputing your source not you!!! Only I have been scoffing loads of asparagus lately and noticed that the english stuff is finished, plus I wouldn't want to eat the nettles that are around now and am surprised they listed them.

    I'm in central Europe, so UK season is about right for me.
    I agree though that asparagus are over, and the strawberries in my garden are finished too.

    I always thought lemons and oranges were winter fruit?!
