Ok so here's my life story with pregnancies in a nutshell...I had 2MC's and am currently scheduling a HSG (xray of my uterus) to make sure everything is a-ok. Anyway I may start trying again after...how do I change my eating "goals" here?? Also anything else I need to do. I plan on working out but am going to ask my dr for clearance first since I may be considered high risk..
Thanks in advance

I don't think you need to change anything except alcohol and folic acid. On exercise, I would just ask my dr. I've had 2 mc myself so if I ever get pregnant again, I'll probably be super duper paranoid the first trimester. Good luck on the HSG! I had one and it wasn't too shabby!0

You can continue to eat at a deficit (to lose weight) until you actually get pregnant. Once you get pregnant, go to maintenance for the first few months, then up it an additional 500 calories a day (gain 1/2 lb per week). Like newaustinite said, you'll want a prenatal vitamin and folic acid supplements for now too. If you aren't considered high-risk, you can work out as normal, but discontinue ab exercises, and don't increase your intensity (higher weights or running faster/longer, etc.). This is what I did for my 2 pregnancies, but you'd definitely want to run it past your doctor, especially with your history of mc's.0

Good luck with your HSG! You're gonna be all right!
And honestly, you'll be hungry all the time in the beginning. Well - I was, let me not speak for everyone else. The hormones get going and just cause this intense hunger. I'd recommend only eating when you're hungry if you're trying not to overdo it. Eat nutrient-rich foods. Try not to use your pregnancy as an excuse to eat poorly or excessively. Remember you're building a human being. Give it some good fuel! Maybe use MFP to log your food, focusing on quality and not calorie? And to log your activity, even if it's just a walk every day.0 -

I remember reading that you only need to up your calories by 300 a day and that's not until 2nd or 3rd Tri. I would think eating to maintain would be good for now..I take prenatals with dha right now. Am also taking a diet pill which I'll definitely stop before we try!!! BUT I think eating to gain 1/2lb a week is a little much! They say you usually shouldn't gain in the first Tri but you can..hmm I'll definitely have to talk to my ob bout that.
As for the hsg does it hurt?! They said mild cramping is common but if a guy is saying mild I'm thinking it may be more than mild :-/0 -

I had read horror stories so I was surprised it didn't hurt. It was uncomfortable but I felt no pain, from what I remember. I hear that if your tubes ARE blocked then you might feel more? I don't know..
Now when they dilated my cervix for another test (for the life of me I cannot remember!!), I passed out. Like cold on the table (it was in the office), then again when I stood up. It was NOT the hsg though!0 -
Agh! Scary!! I'm still gonna take pain meds cause I'm not chancing any pain!! Lol I was thinking of even having a drink before too....0

haha as long as you don't puke because of a drink + nervousness. That wouldn't be fun!!0
