So I just started the c25k program last night (week 1, day 1, obviously). Will it kill me to run that program 4 or 5 days a week instead of just three? This probably has an obvious answer, haha, but I'm just curiuos if will help me at all.. progress into week 2.

If you're aching for more, I'd recommend just doing the podcast twice on your 3 days before adding a 4th.

No it wont kill you but it could slow you down.

EDIT: do them back-to-back rather than as 2 separate workouts.

According to the program, it is good for new runners to have a rest day in between each run to reduce knee or other joint injuries. But because there isn't an even number of days in a week - as long as you skip one day (and you can do some other lower impact cardio on those days) you can go a more like 4 days each week.

    Hi -
You can repeat Wk 1 for more than the 3 days, BUT since they program is designed to ease your body into running (both the physical impact on muscular and skeletal systems, as well as conditioning your respiratory/cardiovascular systems), I don't think they planned on your running it for 4 or 5 consecutive days during the first week.
Rather, I think it's safe to run the Wk1 run up to 3x in one week, and then more than that during the folowing week if you are not ready to move onto Wk2.
I think running it 4-5 times in one week sort of goes against the concept of easing your body into getting used to running.

^ This is totally just my opinion. If you are already a runner, or already very fit, you are of course in a different boat, in which case I guess you could start the program at whatever week suits you! :flowerforyou: :glasses:
