What is your personal motivation?

I've heard a few general ones: to get healthy, to look better, etc.. Buuut, I'm wondering if anyone has any personal/specific motivations. Like, for me being healthy would be a great plus but my big motivator is to get thinner for my husband. My husband, bless his heart, looked at my before and after and said, "yeah, what a diffetence! Though you don't look any prettier" I was like, "huh?!" He claims that he thinks I'm pretty at 260, 199, and whatever weight I reach next.

Any how, his actions speak to a different opinion (hes a lot more friendly a lot more often ;o)) so thats my motivation. Anyone else have one to share?

I seem to be surrounded by thin people. My husband thinks he's cursed with a fast metabolism. He works hard to gain weight. I only wish I had that problem. lol. Although I fall within healthy BMI and weight guidelines, I'm still chubby compared to most of my friends who wear size 2 or below. sigh.

I guess my motivation is to fit in a little more with the people I hang out with.

Originally when I started it was the normal get healthy, look better, blah blah blah. But its gotten more personal to me over the last week. I have 2 boys. My oldest is 9 and is very athletic. Plays sports, swims, rides his bike... he is a healthy eater too. Prefers water, fruit, and lean meat to soda, cake and processed foods. Where did he come from? I have no idea! Last week just the two of us spent the day at an amusement park. He looked on in horror, completely embarrassed for me as I *almost* didn't fit into one of the rides seatbelts. I did fit, but with some serious pushing. Afterwards he said he was sorry if I was embarrassed because he picked the ride. I thought *I* should be apologizing. What if he had to miss out on something really fun because mom was too fat? What else might he miss out on in the future if I stayed unhealthy? Tonight as I went out for a 2 mile walk/jog, he gave me a hug before I left and said I'm proud of you. That right there is my motivation. How I look in a bathingsuit is nothing compared to the pride in my 9 year olds eyes.

Your son sounds very nice. You raised him right.
