When you over-eat...

Hello! I just started MFP almost 2 weeks ago and I LOVE it! Everyone has such great advice and I am so happy to be in this fight with all of you!
I know that a calorie is a calorie, but is it better that if you are going to overeat one day, you do it all at one meal instead of spreading out your over-eating all day?

I really have no clue. But I would try to balance it. If your going out for dinner and know you want to slurge, eat a LIGHT lunch, maybe yogurt and granola, or something like that.0

I personally think it depends. I've noticed the more I have a larger meal the hungrier I feel later on. The smaller meals help keep my stomach smaller so I get full faster. I think it doesn't matter for the calories...but the size of your stomach. (Does that make sense?)0

If I were going to splurge...I would still make small snacks of it. Your body uses what it needs for instant energy, then stores the rest for later. If you eat small amounts during the day, your body has more of a chance keeping up with it and using it as you eat, not storing it for later. Plus, you don't want to stretch out your stomach so that you need more later to feel as full as you did before! But everyone is different, and over-eating is as much about the mind as it is about the stomach! Good luck to everyone!!
I'm doin' it one day at a time!0 -
Thanks for all of your input. It seems as though I can never get full... and perhaps it is because of all the splurging and drinking water in excess to aid digestion. The weekends always seem to be the toughest for me. It is so hard not to get discouraged after you have totally blown your calories for the day. Usually after I have had a bad day, it will take me three good days to get back on track. It is so hard being good.0

Just remember this fool proof tip.......
Never let yourself get hungry....never let yourself get full.
Keep your body and your metabolism regulated as much as you can.0
