Gadgets for tracking calories burned?

I wanted to know if there are some reliable gadgets out there to track calories burned during the day..without paying an arm and a leg?

Unfortunately accuracy comes with price. Best two are bodymedia fit and body bugg, both about 200 new plus monthly fees. You can however find them on craigslist/ebay for sale but still require monthly...
