Men vs. Women

I've noticed that men seem to lose weight faster than women. What's up with that? I see it all the time on The Biggest Loser; its like us poor women are wired to hold on to the weight! What gives?

My guess would be that men build muscle faster and the muscle then burns more calories and fuels the weight loss more.0

It's probably hormone related... or something genetically engineered in us so we can make babies... who knows?0

I think that there are legit physiological reasons that men lose weight a bit faster, not the least of which is simply that testosterone promotes a greater lean body mass, and thus grants men a better metabolic engine for burning calories. The question then raised is, why are there more overweight men than women? While there are more truly obese women (actually by a growing margin), men still rule in the world of the merely overweight.
