I was wondering if anyone is doing Slim In 6 and if they like it? Also when adding my exercise to daily journal what would you consider Slim In 6...Aerobic low impact??

I know I repeat myself over and over, but the best thing to do is get a heart rate monitor. Yes, I'd call SIS low impact aerobics but it also combines weights. A HRM is really going ot show you how many calories you are truly burning so you don't either shortchange yourself or overshoot and eat more caloires than you should.

    Good luck!!

You can pretty much go anywhere, eBay, a sporting goods store, etc. You don't need a super expensive one, just one that you can enter specifics like your weight, height, and max heartrate on. A lot of people on here like the Polar brand. I have a Timex Ironman and love it.
  • I also agree to getting a heart rate monitor. I suggest Polar. They have a wide range and are the very best. Also if you go to the gym most of the cardio machines have Polar receivers built into them. All you would have to do is wear the chest band. I had a friend do Slim in 6 and she had some great result. Most will have to do it for more than one cycle. I have two Polar HRM and am doing the Power 90 series. All the best...

They're workouts from Beachbody w/ the instructor Debbie Siebers. Let me know if you have any questions about them!

I don't have a HRM, so I just estimate calories for workouts!

If I understand you correctly, it works on all body party, abs, butt, legs and arms. When I first did it, 3 days in a row, I hurt all over, but could feel the burn, then I skipped a day and did it 3 more days and it started getting easier.

It really does work, but like everything, you have to keep at it.

20 minutes and you are done. It also has a slow down at the end.

I have access to specific food calculator for Slim in 6.
I can give you the total calories while on Slim in 6 if you give me your height/weight/age.
This time you build the totall into your goals and don't need to add exercise calories as a separate step.
    you can e-mail me...

    Good luck!

I did 5 weeks of the slim in 6 last year.

The routines are good, but I found that got slightly boring and the second and stage the workout was really long 60 minutes if I remember correctly

I also didnt really like using the stray thing they had, I preferred the dumb bells.

On the positive side there were no crazy workout combinations in that you feel like your all arms and legs.
Overall it was a good toning exericse and she isnt super annoying so wont drive you crazy, but I didnt think it slimmed me up that much..

I really enjoy the Tai Bo dvds and Billy is such a geek and makes me laugh and I get alot of satisfaction when Ive put together the routines (it can take time...) and am kicking higher and punching the air. I find the time much more enjoyable with Tai Bo than Slim and Six.

I think if you spent the same amount of time that Slim in Six asks you to spend on any workout dvd you would have the same results.

Slim in 6 is effective... and it's good to train your body in different ways.
I usually put on my own music that pumps me up and work through it. Debbie may not be the most exciting trainer out there, but she gets the job done and I've seen results with her workouts.

Slim in 6 is not Dancy, if you like kick-boxing and stuff Turbo Jam is better for you.
But Debbie really slims you out!

I've done her programs 4 times, andit kept working!
If I could, I'd do only her, but I maxed out on Debbie for now (mentally).
Got to keep it fun, so no program works forever.
Thankfully there are many to chose from, and still spend less money than on gym membership.
That's MHO - It works for me great!

Oh, and I saw that you are seeking advise on stretching - Slim in 6 comes with it's own stretch routines.
a short one with each workout, and a longer separate one (like 15 min) that you can do on your day off or whenever you feel like you need a stretch!

Thanks Jenny...is it ok for any fitness level? Im still a beginner, Im about to start my 6th week of walking everyday and 3 days a week of strength training. I have several DVD's that Ive been trying in order to find one that works well for me. I have ALOT of Denise Austin, and they are ok for the most part but I find that in all the cardio segments I REALLY have to modify and take it down a step or two lol...that woman is a powerhouse! I think Im gonna start a new thread for advice on dvd's:wink:

Roni I am also a beginner at working out and the slim in 6 is easy enough but you do only what you can do. At first its hard and I took a lot of breaks but I've been doing it for a week now and I can pretty much do the whole video without stopping! Just take it one day at a time!!!!! Good luck!

I LOVE the Slim & Limber and Slim & 6 pack on the SI6 workouts. That ab workout is a good one! I add it on often to P90X Ab ripper!
