Weather and Excerise

Does anyone else have the same issue that they do not do well in heat. I work from home in the wonderful AC. I have been slacking going to the gym or outside anywhere because of the heat outside.
I don't want to go down to the water to walk because of the humidity. I definitely don't want to go and ride my bike down at the bike paths. I worry about sunburns, heat exhaustion, etc etc.
I try my best to use the tredmill or dancing programs I have in the house, but find that by being home I don't put the same effort into my workout that I would at a gym.
Does anyone relate to this issue?
and Does anyone have any tips that might help?

sunburns=sun block
heat exhaustion=rarely happens and only if you are severly dehydrated..drink water
there..go workout outside...try early in the morning before the sun comes up and its still light and not so hot. last weekend i went hiking uphill and was pouring the sweat, drank some gatorade when i got to the top. then came home and mowed my lawn in the middle of the day and washed my truck. no problems. dont use excuses..just get out and do it. sure its uncomfortable and hot and but you'll feel sooo good when you are done and hit that shower.0 -

Not true. Excessive time or energy in direct sunlight can cause heat exhaustion. You're thinking of heat stroke. That's a different affliction.
OP - I also tend to get lazy in the heat. I take long naps at the hottest parts of the day. To counteract this I wait until early morning or late evening when it's much cooler (usually early morning because heat can travel into the late evening as well) to work out. I suggest you try that out Takes a bit of willpower to actually wake up and go but once you do you'll feel amazing!0 -
I cannot relate, I do it anyway....to me, not doing it is just an excuse to not do it.
The heat index was about 103 deg today...I ran 4.5 miles outside.
Sorry...gotta press on even when the weather is bad. If I do something inside, I push until muscle failure.0 -
like everything else in life it gets easier if you do it often... I too don't do too well in heat but I'd rather be out then locked in a AC office.0

Sorta offended by that post the first reponse. Almost talked down to. We all have things in our lives that we have to do. Housework, yardwork, etc. Its not like I am slacking on living my life and making excuses to go outside.
I am struggling with finding motivation to get outside during the heat and humidity to excerise. I was looking for support and ideas...0 -
If you dont like the heat then workout in the AC.....thats what I do, a calorie burned is a calorie burned no matter if its inside or out....you may burn more if your outside sweating cause your heart rate will be higher....It dont matter where as nike says Just do it....as long as your doing something is the way I see it.0
