Every time I turn around and look at the television there is always some supposed "quick fix" to help one lose weight. Drives me batty, no wonder society is so driven to lose weight! Now don't get me wrong, it is good, great actually if you have an unhealthy body fat percentage and being overweight is not ideal, however the thing that gets me is the "quick" part. It takes hard work, honesty with self, and a long time to work towards healthy weight loss, as I am sure WE ALL know and I wish those ads could be banned!
I just hate them!!

The only problem is that they actually DO work for alot of people....just not for very long LOL.

It also depends on your definition of 'quick"

6 months ago, I wouldn't have though it would be possible to lose over 10% of my body weight in 2 months....well...it hasn't been that long and I've lost almost 15%!

So if there is an ad that says lose 2 inches off your waist in 8 weeks...I believe it! Why? Because I did it!

I agree with you about the quick fixes. They are a lttile irrating I'm learning the hard way myself...You have to put the work in yourself to get it done. But anything is possible.
  • What I failed to mention was the diet aids......that is the one that irks me the most.......not so much the exercise programs :) congrats on that, I as well lost 10% in little time, but it was through keeping track of what I ate aand exercise combined......

Ah yeah....those diet ads are annoying...I thought you meant the Paid Program type things. Not to mention what they actually do to your body....isn't just legalized speed for the most part?

Yes ephedrine is in most diet tablets, with high doses of caffeine. I know as I used to take a lot of it- ED related. I would STRONGLY advise everyone to never try these tablets, it will not end nicely. I even tried a very respected protein shake brand of diet pill, and collapsed in my bathroom. What I'm saying is not only are they not long term, but they will damage you. They are basically drugs at the end of the day.

Yes, for me it's the "guick" part that is annoying. I know that at 61 and over 200 pounds it will take eating right and exercise and patience to lose the weight. In the end, it won't be quick, but I'll not just thinner, but healthier.

Thanx Crystal I really do appreciate that!!!! 108 that's awesome!
  • Totally agree!!!!!!! They are soo annoying. All i know is getting back into the gym, healthy diet and being consistent with both... you'll see results.

And whenever i think im not loosing or its taking too long....I always remember it took a year or two to put it on...so why wouldnt it take a year or two to get it back off!! Truth! :)

They are, essentially, a legal form of speed.

They can do some serious damage on the heart.
