Hi everyone, I'm Julia and I'm also a newbie here! I'm 25 and from Hertfordshire in the UK.

I'm trying to lose 20 pounds and get down to a UK 10 / US 6.

Anyone with any tips for controlling portion sizes please send them my way!

xo

Do you know what, the first week or two you will be hungry. But if you push on your stomach will get used to the smaller portions and you'll find you're satisfied with less.
The first few weeks are killer though :(

I done a combination of the first two replies! I went out and bought much smaller dinner plates and after a few weeks I now don't notice any difference to before except how big those square plates can actually get!

Best of luck with your goal!

    I totally agree with that.

Best thing is to keep busy.. and if you do get hungry have grapes or raspberries (something you can pick at) I found that really helps :)

I'm going to do a Karen from Outnumbered and get a 'special bowl' for my meals!

Would that be the opposite of Alan Partridge's 'big plate'?

In my case, yes, hopefully! Ha!
