Cool. I'll bake my own today. Season them with some garlic power. Dab a lil schmutz of ketchup and call it a day.

People, PEOPLE!!!! The potato is not the bad guy. Us eating more than 5 with butter, fried in oil and showered in salt is the bad thing. Slice a potato up. Spray some butter Pam on it (0 calories). Bake it until your desired texture. Sprinkle something with no salt and use a lil katsup. You'll be fine. Look up the calorie calculator and see what that does. Someone suggest a sweet potato. Even smarter idea!

Mmmmm... French Fries. I'm a carboholic (diabetic). I will celebrate by remembering some of my dearly departed friends ....

McDonalds fries - long and thin and salty.

Wendy's - may I please have a extra large fry with my gallon of Ketchup?

Bojangles/Popeyes - Seasoned & battered cajun fries with another Gallon of Ketchup and 2 Liters of Coke.

And just "Chips" with malt vinegar.

    Please hold the Heart Attack.

Thanks .... oh well. Off to the Salad bar to pig out.

Hmm. I have to disagree. Potato's are evil  - they're my carboholic gateway drug. :explode: Baked, fried, made into chips ... etc.

Those are OK ... never really into the whole waffle thing - kind of french fry abuse if you ask me.

:o I think I will buck the trend here and celebrate! A small order of waffle fries from Chick-Fil-A is only 270 calories and 125 mg of sodium. . . . and they fry them in canola oil, so no trans fats :D

Neither the French or McDonald's do this invention anything like justice. The true delicacy is fat, chunky British chips, piping hot out of the deep fat fryer, and drenched in fresh vinegar. (Optionally served with mushy peas, curry sauce or a pickled egg).

Enough porn for the day ?

Hmm. There are several other days that don't seem to get the recognition they deserve (from lack of Googlehits)

National Sugar Day (I'm really surprised the sugar manufacturers & growers don't have this one)

National Fat Day (Not sure who would sponsor this one - Swine herders?)

    National Obesity Day

Heinz malt vinegar I should hope. That's basically what makes them delicious, IMO.

Fries can GTFO, as far as I'm concerned it's Apple day.

Carboholics nightmare? Of course!!! LOL!!! That's why, like everything else, moderation is necassary. Instead of eating a whole back or box. Make ONE potato. Like liquor. You don't drown yourself if you know it's unhealthy.

Yeah, but like an Alcoholic (I imagine), once I start the first french fry ... before I know it, they're all gone, and I want more. Best to avoid them - for me.
