I am looking for a strapless heartrate monitor and calorie counter watch. Any suggestions on where to look? Any recommendations on brands/models?

The ones without the straps are not accurate. You could go with a bodybug that you wear on your arm like an MP3 player.

Heres something better- think of a number in your head and log it, because that is bound to be more accurate than a non-chest strap HRM.....

are you sure you want a strapless model? That's what keeps accuracy in check having the strap model..

I was wondering why you wanted strapless. Because as the above posts make know, they aren't accurate and essentially a waste of money.

Did you make a typo, or does the strap kind sound intimidating. Tell us a bit more!

:noway: If you want accuracy you need the strap.

Good to know! Thanks! So NO strapeless. Ok, so let's modify this to: "Any suggestions on a good HRM/Cal Counter with the strap?" :-)

I too wanted a strapless only because of the amount I sweat. Wouldn't it get totally disgusting?

You can easily rinse it if it does and also some toss theirs in the washer (take off the deal though before you do) as it recommends.

Keeping the sensors clean is the main thing so they make good connections.

OP- My Vote is always for the FT7 Polar, can't go wrong picking that one up!:flowerforyou:

I just bought a Timex Zone Trainer (chest strap HRM), about $60 on Amazon. The same one is $100 in stores. I've only been using it for about a week, but I freaking love it (especially for the price), and, since I'm new to using a HRM, I was cool with getting a model without all the bells and whistles. It's water-resistant up to 30M, so you can just run the whole thing under tap water to rinse it off when you're done sweating on it

This is the one I got (shipping was free, too!):
