Hi, I'm new and really enjoying the message board and site. I'm wondering what exercise cleaning stalls might compare to on the list? (For those of you without horses, this involves shoveling up pee-soaked wood shavings, hay, and poops, typically completely filling up two full wheel barrow loads, and dumping them on the compost heap.) Maybe gardening? I saw there were horseback riding calories on the list, so I am hoping there are other horse types out there. It is a daily exercise taking 20-30 minutes, especially enjoyable with our 100+ temperatures here!

When I lived closer to my aunts farm I used to do that kind of work all the time. For now I might count it as cleaning heavy effort but I would highly suggest a heart rate monitor like the polar ft4 or ft7 if yoy are concerned with accuracy.0

There is a horse grooming catagory that I use. But for cleaning stalls I might use gardening or something similar.0
