Hi My name is Linda, I have been going to curves for 2 months. I know how to eat the right foods and try really hard to do so. My son has been a diabetic for 28 yrs. So I have learned what to eat and not to eat. But I go in this yoyo cycle. I hate it and now I am ready to do something about itt. My biggest problem is eating enough thru the day. So I don't eat at night. Some people say eat small meals thru the day. Got any ideas, Would love to hear them. Plus encouragement sure would help. Thanks

  • Hey LSmela..new to the site..been doing this myfitness program on my cell phone and decided to check out the online version. I started my change on June 6th at 207...first started out doing the South Beach starter...two weeks no starch no sweets...weighed in at 207...which is heavy for me cause I'm only 5 6...someone told me about the my fitness site so a couple of weeks ago started watching my calories. Down to 194 with a goal of 175. I'm a yoyo person as well but started eating little meals during the day...sometimes I'm on the go sometimes I'm home...depending on if I'm speaking anywhere. It's definitely a daily grind..thinking about eating the small meals and staying away from the junk. I've adjusted well to not eating much sweets and junk. You're the first person I've replied to so hopefully I'll see you on here and we can help each other. I live in the Pembroke Pines, Fl area.

You want to eat about 6-8 small meals throughout the day. Of course, I only eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. I occasionally snack if I have extra calories left or am hungry and I seem to be losing weight just fine. I have stages also where I either stay the same weight forever or bounce back and forth when I seem to be doing everything right. So dont worry, your not the only one. It happens to most of us. Also remember, you tend to lose weight quickly near the start of your weight loss. Then it slows down once your body becomes adjusted. Exercise, drink plenty of water, cut down on sodium and sugar, and moderation is key! Thats about the best advice I can give you. Hope it helps! Feel free to add me (:

Hi James, Thanks for replying. This yoyo weight lose is for the birds. I am going to try eating small meals during the day. I am unemployed right now and I guess I have plenty of time to work on a plan. I live in Muskegon, Mi. We have been having great weather so its time to start walking too. Sounds great , see you on here again soon. Linda
  • I linda,
Small meals is the way to go. Just make sure to log it and dont go over. I lost 50 lbs from doing 6 small meals a day. like an apple and two string cheese for a meal or a scoop of protein powder with water for a meal. just nothing bigger than the palm of your hand and eat healthy. You can do it.

Hi , Thanks for the advice. I have noticed with just eating 3 meals, I am hungry at night or just think I am. Maybe once I get myself going in the right direction I will just keep motivated. I know you need exercise and portion control. So here I go a a great journey. Thanks for your input. Linda

Just take your calorie goal and divide it by 5 or 6 (I do 5 meals). It really does help with hunger but it takes some getting used to if you are used to larger meals. Good luck on your journey!
