HSG help!!

I am going in to have an hsg done tomorrow morning. Instead of taking the motrin or Advil I'm going to take either a percoset or a vicoden. Do you think this is ok?? Also to intensify the effect of the pill I was going to have a small drink :-/ lol I am not driving so I don't see why it would hurt anything.

    I should add I've had alcohol with pain pills before so I know what to expect..I just don't wanna mix two diff pain pills.

    I don't know what HSG stands for, but no. I don't think you should mix alcohol with pain meds. I would assume that they would give you something for the discomfort.

    Well if they did I wouldn't be posting this would I? LOL I understand the risks of mixing pain meds and alcohol I'm not dumb. Thanks tho

    Considering you are pregnant, the only advice you should take should be from your ob/gyn! I'm sure they have an answering service. Where I live our local hospitals have a nurse line where you can call 24/7 for advice also. Good luck with the HSG and the pregnancy!

    I'm not pregnant. You would not be allowed an hsg if you were because it would kill the baby/fetus! Thanks for the good luck tho :) I'm getting an hsg to check the shape of my uterus to make sure it's normal and there are no septums. Ive read other places of ladies taking a pain pill. They said I could take 800 mg of motrin/Advil but I have such a high tolerance for pain meds even morphine does nothing for me. I had to have a double dose of dilaudid to feel it (and that was after 2doses of morphine). This is why I think taking a perc won't hurt..they basically inject dye in my uterus, take pics and that's it. I may ixnay the drink cause it's at 9am LOL

    I'm sorry, I asked my sister what an HSG was (she went to nursing school a while ago) and she said it's something you get when you're pregnant! Grrrrr! I still wish you luck, hope you get good news!
