Losing Too Fast?

Hi All,
I hit the gym for the first time in years yesterday and I lost almost 5lbs... I didn't eat too few calories yesterday... but I did a full 2hr workout, drank lots of water.
Is this normal? I feel like that is too much too fast... not that I'm complaining!

Since you went to the gym it was most likely mostly water weight.0

When you are first starting out, your body will do strange things. You may lose a lot really fast, and then not lose for a while. Others won't lose for the longest time and then drop a lot quickly. Yet still some people will lose at a pretty steady rate. Just don't expect this to happen every time you go to the gym.0

Since I have started my weight loss and new diet I have dropped 29lbs in 2 months. I eat all day and I workout 5-6 days a week. I drink tons of water and I have not had any issues. I think it can be normal and as soon as we hit a lower weight we may show a decrease in loss, but right now I am riding this train as long as it will let me.
Great job on the 5!!!0 -
I just want to make sure I do it in a healthy way, that's all. It was just a shock to wake up and see myself 5lbs lighter this morning compared to yesterday.0

When I first started working out I noticed a big drop like this too. I wouldn't sweat it for now. Usually the body tends to drop a lot of weight at its first big routine change. If you continue losing that much weight (and don't gain any back due to the body's natural weight fluctuations), then you might be going a bit too fast. If you lose weight too fast, it doesn't give the skin enough time to shrink around the lost weight, leaving lots of excess baggy skin, and then theres tons of health problems. Generally the rule is to lose 1% of your body weight a week (311 lbs = 3.11 lbs a week, 175 lbs = 1.75 lbs a week).0

I don't care if it was water weight or unicorn weight, it was gone this morning.0
