Insanity Help!

So I'm in month two and it's pretty intense. I'm not the strongest when it comes to pushups and in this round they do a TON of um. There are some moves (such as the power pushup and drills) that I feel to weak to get through.
Would it be better/ more beneficial to just do regular push ups for the alotted time until I get stronger or will the strength and endurance come with the move even though I can only do maybe 6-7 FULL pushups with the added moves.
Am I making sense?

I believe you will still benefit by just doing what you can! When i get exhausted i drop to my knees and just do them from there!0

If it were me I would challenge myself. If I could already do regular push ups then I would need to do the power pushups to challenge myself and get stronger, even if I could only do a few to start. That's how you get stronger.0

I'm not real strong in my upper body either. I've had to modify the push ups in some places and do them on my knees. But I still try to keep up the pace. Being on my knees helps me to be able to complete the move better... instead of struggling thru 1 or 2 sets of full push ups, I can get thru almost as many as they do. But if i feel like I can do full push ups, I do. Good luck, and keep up the great work! Love Insanity!!0

Do as much as you can (even if it's just 1-3) with the correct form. Don't sub out moves like that. Eventually as you push yourself through them you'll be able to do a lot more. I started my P90X/Insanity hybrid about 5 weeks ago and started with only 3 push-up jacks. 2 weeks ago on my last fit test I got 15. Just keep pushing .0

Yes... do what you can!! Then once you can no longer get back up, go to regular push ups or even down to your knees!!0

In my experience with Insanity, the reason you are having a hard time with the push ups (and the reason I was) is not because you can't do them....it's because you are so winded at the time you are attempting them. Just for experiment's sake, try to do these difficult moves when you are *not* already working out, from a complete rest. I bet you have a much easier time of it. But that's part of the glory of Insanity -- pushing yourself when you think you just can't do anymore. My suggestion for during the actual videos is to do the suggested move as many times as you can, and then if you need to back down or modify it in order to not stop moving completely, then do so. As long as you push yourself as much as you can do, that's all that matters. Insanity is designed so that no one will ever master it. If you master it, you aren't working hard enough. Just look at the people on the videos -- they are the "pros" and have gone through it many times, yet they can't even complete the stuff half the time, because they are always pushing to the limit.0
