how do you arrange your playlist?

i asked this in the fitness forum a few days ago and didn't get very many responses so i thought i would try again here.
i am trying to put together a running playlist based on bpm. i have 23 songs total ranging from 126 to 177 bpm. it is for 10 miles at an average 9 minute mile pace.
i was thinking of arranging them in a bell curve fashion, starting with a few songs at 150 bpm, and spending the majority of the run (7 songs) at 160 bpm, then moving up to a few songs at 166 bpm, two songs at 177 bpm and then slowing back down with a song each at 170, 164, 156, 150, 138, 131 and 126.
does that sound reasonable or should i move the 177 songs up closer to the beginning of the run when i am fresher? should i spread them out so it is more like intervals?
how do you make a playlist?

This website will give you songs to the tempo you are looking for and allow you to see other members playlists.

but i am wondering if that is the best way to do it or if it should be switched around. for example the placement of 8 and 7 minute miles.

I didn't even know there was such a thing as playlists for running tempo. I'm interested to hear the responses.0

I'd check out http://www.cadenceapp.com , they have BPM analyzer tools I use. You get BPM info for all your iTunes songs, then make playlists in iTunes . I use their Streaming fitness radio station too, check it out.0

There's no science that I am aware of - you just have to find what works for you and keeps you moving. What I have done personally is try to pay attention to when I start to lose my steam. Then, I make sure and put on a song that I know always gets me going - Bollywood seems to work really well for me. I also definitely try to match the beat to my speed so I have found a large collection of songs that are in my "range" and put them all in one large playlist so it works with a shorter or longer workout - whatever I have time for. I keep it on random and let the song dictate my speed. On a faster song I'll speed up and lower the incline. On a slower song, I'll slow my speed but bump up my incline. It provides a really good balance as well as variety. Hope this helps!0
