Once you reach your weight goal...

I have reached my weight loss goal. I now think I need to re-evaluate how I look and that maybe I should lose 10-15 more lbs. But I cannot seem to lose any more weight. It is like my body is set at this weight. I have not lost any weight in almost 6 weeks. I have changed up my work outs, zig zag calories, had rest days, you name it. Do we get to the point where this is where our body likes to be?
Any one else like this? Struggle with pushing through?

are you doing strengthening exercises? you might not see it on the scale but inches and fat will come off.0

I'd say measure yourself and do some weights and you should at least start to lose inches.
Have you experimented with low-carb? If you have gone low-carb, carb-cycling I hear also works well to get your body guessing.
Getting more sleep often helps as well. Doing sprints instead of cardio. Intermittent fasting? Just a couple suggestions I guess.0 -
I have definitely heard of a weight that a person can reach which is their "set weight" and your body will try to maintain that weight no matter what you do. If you really can't lose weight by doing everything healthy, then you're probably at that point where it would be unhealthy to lose any more weight.0

Try upping your calories or zig zagging. since you don't have much to lose try setting your weekly loss at 0.5lbs/week this will help ensure that what you lose is mostly fat, instead of muscle. The less you have to lose the more important it is to have a smaller caloric deficit.0 -
we are not all skinny winnies as many of us have larger bones and muscle
Just be the best you can be
As long as your eating healthy and exercising properly, accept that0 -
yeah i'm at the weight i want to be but still want to lose fat, i'm tightenning up my diet and doing more interval stuff and sprints, hiit etc ... like some of the other knowledgeable posters suggested0

I've heard so many Jillian Michaels radio shows where she would complain that it would be a huge struggle for her to get to her goal weight because her body just wanted to be about 5 lbs higher than what she wanted. I'd say if you are pretty close to your goal weight and it is a healthy weight, then your body may just be happy there.0

I changed my weight goal twice. Now I am happy with my weight but not with my figure (too skinny on top, too fat below the waist LOL) so I am working on gaining muscle - lowering my %fat without losing weight. It is a SLOW process but it is working. The best part is that everyone keeps telling me they can tell I am losing weight- and I'm actually NOT!0

I set my goal lower then what I thought was possible. I hit a plateau at about 10 lbs higher than my goal. It lasted almost 4 weeks, but I just kept going the same way I had been. I also had to increase my calories for this week and I'm still about 4 lbs away. But in about 2 weeks I should reach my goal. Changing up a workout can help, but for me, I've been running and training for a half marathon. So I haven't been able to switch up my workout. Working through a plateau doing the same workouts will still work, it just involves avoiding discouragement.0

I think you should focus on toning and losing inches rather than the number on the scale. Up your strength training routine, take measurements and focus more on how your clothes feel.
Congrats on your success so far!0 -

This is what I have done and you are NOT kidding!
About 3 months ago I changed my focus from "weight loss" to adjusting my overall "body composition". Pay close attention to my food, my workouts, my sleep, water intake, etc.
I have lost some more weight since then, but it was a result of reducing fat and exchanging it for lean body mass. I'm not putting on muscle as fast as I'm dropping fat, and while it's nice to see the number on the scale go down a little more, but as I put on lean muscle, that will most likely even out, and I'm OK with that, since I am now, for the first time in over 2 decades, at a healthy weight.
I will tell you this however - yesterday, for the first time, I had a trainer calculate my body fat after he came out and told me that my form on my bench presses was spot on and he could see the definition in my arms from across the gym. Whoa ... huh? MY arms? Are you sure you weren't looking at someone else? I was on the bench over there ... to the left! LOL ...
I thanked him and then expressed my need to find some sort of weight lifting to help reduce last of the 'arm waddle', "belly jiggle' and "cottage cheese' on my thighs ... all of which I know won't ever go back the way it was, what I am dealing with will require some surgery, BUT, he suggested, given my efforts to reduce body fat, that we go calculate what it was as of right now so I have something to measure by down the road. Oy vey ...
I reluctantly agreed ... and when he was done I was SO glad I did. He purposely gave me a little 'wiggle room' with the calpers entering in a millimeter more fat than what he was actually measuring in the various required areas. I was surprised to learn I am at 23% ... that is well in the 'fit' range and very healthy for a woman of my age/weight/height ... and absolutely shocked to learn that if I exchanged another 10 lbs of body fat for lean body mass, I will be well into the "athlete" range. No way! ME? You have GOT to be kidding!
For anyone who has met their "number" goal on the scale, there is another goal out there just waiting to be determined! You may just surprise yourself like I did! LOL Go for it!
