Nerdy eyeglasses question...

This may sound nerdy but...during workouts, I get sweaty and my glasses ride down on my face. And, last night during yoga, they just kept completely falling off during the downward dog. Does anyone know of a solution? Or where to get those strap thingies that some of the nerdy kids used to wear when I was in grade school? I am blind without my glasses, so I don't even feel comfortable takign them off during yoga.

I have to work out with contacts since my weight loss, they fall off all the time. I also know any eyeglass, drug store or sporting goods place should have those bungee straps. You may also need to get your glasses re-fitted. Kaiser was willing to do mine for free, they just warm up the frame and correct it somehow. Ask the place you got them from.0

You might want to go to your optometrist and get them tightened again. It happens to my friend too but once he got them tightened, they were great. Also, you might want to look into those little foam stickers you can attach to the bridge, so they don't fall off. They work wonders.0

Every single advertisement showing when I clicked on this was about glasses! It's like they know.... I would have been more impressed had they been ads for the straps you were asking about! :P
And to answer your question, I just take off my glasses during those poses where they don't stay on... (Do you really need to be focusing on looking at anything during downward dog?) ... or I wear my contacts!
Proof! lol

I usually use my contacts, but, my allergies are bothering me. I usually keep an eyeglass towelle near me, keep my glasses right beside me or wear one of those eyeglass bands that tie in the back to keep them on...0

I didn't notice until you said something!!! I had the same ads. Gotta love cookies!0 -
I let them slip and slide... When I am running on the treadmill, I take them off and run blind for the last bit - I'm so focused on making sure I keep my feet moving I forget that I can't see anything.
It does bug me, but I just deal with it for now...0 -
If you didn't have the plastic frames, you could go get new silicone nosepads which are very grippy. I have plastic frames similar to the ones in your picture. Mine will slide down pretty far but there is enough bend behind the ear that they have never fallen off.0

Haha same here!! My advice is to try all the previous suggestions and if all else fails, take them off:glasses:0 -
It looks like you have plastic/nylon type frames. These periodically need adjustment. Just get used to dropping by. It's worth it. I used to never bother, but since I started wearing progressive bifocals, it's a requirement. If they slide down, you don't see very well. Try it. I think you will like the results. If not, then you could go obviously go the strap route. Or Lasik. Or contacts. But I'm sure you already knew that! Get 'em adjusted my friend.0

Good idea- I didn't think about getting them adjusted. Duh! I'm sure that they need it, since I've lost some weight in my face! if that doesn't work, I'll see about the strap. I am new to all of these exercise classes, yoga, etc so I need my glasses so I can see what the heck I'm supposed to be doing next, LOL.0

contacts here.
I finally got too blind to to do my hair and makeup in the morning a few years ago and traded in the glasses.0
