Zumba Question

Hello I want to give Zumba a try because I have heard you can burn tons of calories doing it compared to doing normal cardio. I do not want to go to classes right now and would prefer to do it at home. Are there any DVD's anyone can recommend I pick up and if so which ones and how is it working for you. Have you notice a weight loss difference? How long have you been doing it? Also I have a Wii which I enjoy playing with, does anyone have Zumba for the Wii and if so how do you like it? Does it work? How long have you had it. I don't want to start going out buying a bunch of stuff and like every weight loss gimmick it does not work.

Thanks

I don't burn nearly as many calories with zumba as other workouts - I am not coordinated enough!:blushing:

I'd highly recommend Zumba for the Wii. Don't know how many calories it burns, but after 45 mins I find myself rather very sweaty! I love it, and if I don't eat too much it really helps the weight comes off.
  • Yeah, I was just about to make the same suggestion as csl003. I have it for Wii and love it. If you have Wii Fit, you can use the belt from the Zumba Fitness game with the running games. :]]

You can buy the Zumba DVDs online, but before you do that I'd recommend YouTube. There are some great routines out there to try. Just type Zumba into the search. I have it for the Wii and I'm not a fan of it, but I think it's because I prefer the actual classes. Good luck

    Hi PammyKY,
Zumba is excellent for weight loss and toning of your muscles. you can buy both DVD's and Zumba disc for the Wii.
I have had the DVD's for over a year - got mine off the internet. The Wii version I have had for 6 weeks - bought in Blockbusters. Both are easy to follow but do take some practice. The trick - as always - is to actually do the programme regularly and not just buy it! Lol

I was at SAm's the other day and notice the Wii Active 2 which includes the heart monitor and weights not sure if it comes with a game was marked down to $20.00 from a regular price of $100.00. I was going to pick it up but thought that maybe it was not worth it which is why they knocked it down. I hate that it did not say what all was including in the package. If it's just weights and a heart monitor I don't need that.

I saw it advertise on TV the DVD on Zumba was not sure if their video was the only one out there or if there were others. The DVD I saw advertise on TV was not cheap.
