I have been on and off my entire life. I just knew this time I was going to do it! I started off the first week doing so great, but then over the weekend I blew it and never got back to dieting! Good thing I did not gain anything!!!! But I have stayed the same for two weeks in the row. Today I woke up and decided that I have to do it! So I plan on trying to stick to this diet day by day, not week by week!

I do ok throughout the day, but when I get home is when I blow it!!! I have not excerised in about three weeks and I have all the good intentions in the world, but never do it! I have to find a way to do it.

I am still here, hanging on by a thread, but I have to do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It may be easier to stick to if you stop thinking of it as a diet. Diets are so restrictive! Think of it as your new healthier lifestyle that you will maintain even once you have reached your weightloss goals. As a lifestyle having a few of your favourite high cal foods every once in a while is not cheating. It's living! Good luck

I agree with Kat Wood. This is a life style change. You need to think about positive. You can do this. Take it step by step and day by day. If you fall, get up, brush off your knees and start all over.
You have more support than you know right here at MFP.
YOU CAN DO IT AND YOU WILL!!!!!

I know so much about dieting that I could be a leader and teach everyone else!!!! I should just start doing what I know!!!! I know the Weight Watcher book frontwards and backwards, but I have to find a way to stay on plan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JUST SAY NO!!!!!!!! LOL  I need to start thinking like a thin person and living like one! I mean I have a friend that is small and she never thinks about food, in fact sometimes she forgets to eat, but I think food consumes me...I don't drink or smoke or have any other bad habits, but eating!!!!!!

I've never understood how people can "forget" to eat...I have a friend who is the same way. And me, well, I'm always counting down the hours until my next meal!!

Not sure I am replying right but here I go. If I did not no better I would think I typed this. You sound just like me and it is a struggle. I get so mad at myself that I end sabotaging myself even more. Good luck to you and you have already succeeded more than I have. Hopefully some good advice will come this way.

Thanks! We have lost the same!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so glad I can find support here, because trust me I GET IT NO WHERE ELSE!!! My best friend is like Tressie eat you are not that big, who cares what people think, and my husband buys as many little debbies as possible, plus my co-worker always brings in a "treat-treat" as she calls it.......................:grumble:

I think I am going to take it and just put it in my desk drawer and as it builds up make up a little basket and give it back to her and say "just thinking of you" ha ha ha

You are doing great, and if you mess up one day or one week. Oh Well. You have the rest of your life to get it right. I know it's a slow process and seems like a road that never ends, but if you can stick with it long enough to see some big results you will be happier and most importantly, healthier.

You are doing great! I wish your friends and husband were being more supportive. Perhaps, you should find a healthy hobby to help you meet more like-mided people to support you on your journey? Perhaps you could meet some people at your gym's group exercise classes?

Oh and I totally know what you mean about counting down the hours until lunch at work. Although I think that has more to do with my boredom at work than actually wanting to eat:smile:

Thanks, everyone..........it was so funny but my co-worker just told me she has gained a ton of weight and wanted to start on a diet................ I told her I am on it now, but it was a lifestyle change not a diet!

She even went home to get some program she bought off line Shapely Secrets?? Has anyone heard of that. You tighten different muscle groups for 7 minutes , eat right, drink water and you are supposed to lose like 2 dress sizes and 10 pounds?????? We are going to do it in a few minutes....good thing the boss is gone most of the day.... and we can play............

I realize now no matter how much you have to lose we (women) are all in the same boat!!!!!!!!! None of us are happy with ourselves, heck my sister in law is like a one and she thinks she is fat, but sometimes I think she says that in front of me so she can make herself feel better!!!!!!!!:grumble:

I have realized that I need to eat healthier - the great thing about that is that the reward of that is losing weight and feeling great. Yes I have a weight loss goal and it's going to be a challenge - still have about 70# to go but I am working on a healthier me!

I figure no matter what exercise plan it is - as long as you are doing something, you'll reap the reward from it. I imagine as I get closer to my goal I'll need more structure but for now whatever I do (30 day shred or Wii Fit) I am getting up off my booty and working up a sweat.

Here's to a healthier you! :drinker:
