If you really took an egg, and only used the egg white - that may be about right. Usually, however, if you use carton egg whites, they are usually anywhere from 3 tablespoons or 1/4 cup for a serving...so they basically give you the amount as if you had a whole egg...is about 25-30 calories...so if you took just the egg white portion of the egg that is probably pretty close.0

Usually 1 egg white = about 1/4 cup.
Egg whites are listed in the MFP database.0 -

Yeah I used actual eggs.. and it was a medium egg. The white alone does not make a 1/4cup. I cant believe how the yoke has so many cals. Its my favorite part of the egg!!0 -
I eat medium eggs too. Here is the breakdown.
15 calories
50 mg sodium
40mg potassium
3g protein
2% calcium
0 fat
0 cholesterol
I agree, one egg yolk does not = 1/4 cup unless you are maybe using extra large eggs so that is not the best measurement to go with in my opinion
And I added it to the food data bank as a generic medium egg white:drinker:0 -
speaking of eggs, can some one help me out??
I know they are good for you protein and all, but what is the diff between the whole egg, egg beaters and egg beaters egg whites?? Beside cals??0 -
I eat a whole egg fried in smart balance 3 or 4 times a week with a slice of double fiber wheat bread toasted. It's quick & easy and keeps me feeling full.
I don't understand the fear of the yolk unless your cholesterol is high.

whole eggs contain more fat. they are well known for their cholesterol content (which has recently been in the news as VERY overrated so please do not fear yolks!) Egg beaters, correct me if I'm wrong, are fat reduced eggs bought in liquid form, and egg beaters egg whites are yolkless, fat free eggs bought in liquid form.0 -
so pretty much, an egg is an egg is an egg??
Thanx all0 -

Im not scared of the yoke. its my favorite part. Im just going for the cal factor. I cant stand the taste of whites alone so when I make an omlete I use 2 egg whites and one full egg, that seems to work.0 -
