I generally plan my day and make adjustments as I go.

Reason: I work out in the evening and have to plan the extra calories earlier in the day so I'm not left with a huge number after dinner.

That said... on non-workout days I'm sometimes more lax about it and log as I go because I've got a good idea of how to fit that many calories in already.

I log as I go because for the most part I don't know what I'll be eating most of the time until it's time to cook (or go to the restaurant). So far it's been working for me.

I log as I go, because it is INCREDIBLY difficult to judge if I'm going to be hungry enough for this meal to eat it all, or am I staying up even later which means I'm going to eat more.
I tried pre-logging, but it freaks me out to much so I constantly think about it more than i already think about food....
