Praise the Lord! For the past two years I have had some serious health issues. It started when my husband and I got pregnant, We are college students so low on cash is the polite way to put it. We lived on boxed pasta and whatever else was cheap (bread). I found that I gained close to 80lbs in 9 months and so did my husband. After having my daughter I felt like I was extremely depleated. I could hardly get out of bed and everything that touched me hurt so bad. If my husband would nudge my arm I would serioulsy cry. It did not get better as the year went by. I went to doctor after doctor. My body just felt like it was giving up on me, which was so depressing because being a new wife, mom, and not to mention. The doctors went from telling me I had a nerological disorder to having gills!!! I finally decided to take actions into my own hands and work on my nutrition. I went off the deep end and went raw vegan or low fat low calorie, I lost weight but is still felt weak and depleated.....ugh.

I finally had an ah hah! moment the other day-when at my grandmother's house- I had lasagna and apple pie and serioulsy felt like I got roofied, I was so tired I needed to take a nap. I put it all together and realized that carbs were making me feel this way.
I decided to cut them out of my diet. I am keeping them under 20g for right now and I feel great!!!!

But the BIG NSV IS HERE!!! NSV- I got up and scrubbed, SCRUBBED my house....hooorah, I have not had this energy in years....I hope it lasts-I have also lost a couple lbs and 11 inches.

My body has a similar reaction to carbs. I don't keep mine that low but the carbs I get are primarily from fruits and veggis. I eat almost NO white flour or white sugar. When I eat this way I feel great.

A plate of pasta is like a sleeping pill for me.

I too began this journey because I was diagnosed with a neurological disorder. I was so weak and just wasting away. I even began to lose nerve function in my right arm. I couldn't even pick up a dish with it. I decided there had to be something causing this disorder so I cut out most processed foods, started buying organic whenever I felt it was needed and eating healthier. I did feel better but not all the way better until I stopped smoking (so many chemicals in cigarettes aside from nicotine..don't know why I waited so long to quit) and that was just a few months ago. I feel sooo much better so much so that I began exercising and gaining all that muscle back that I had lost during the past 5 years...It's crazy how food and environmental substances can make someone so sick and then not bother another person.
I am so happy you found out what is bothering you...now heal and get strong again..good luck and feel free to friend me if you want to support each other in this recovery type journey :flowerforyou:
