Structured menu / meals?

Hi all - do any of you follow a structured menu/meal plan? In my perfect world, I would stay within my calorie allotment (1300 calories), exercise 5 - 6 days a week and drink 70 - 90 oz of water daily. I am always a train wreck! I start out doing well for about 3 days, then fall off the wagon....I think it's either caused by stress from work, kids, or I didn't like the progress on the scale. anyway, when I have had success in the past, usually it has been because I had a structured meal plan and had to check in with someone weekly (i.e. Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, etc).....and just wondered if any of you who have had success have had similar issues - and how did you solve the problems?

appreciate your help!

Kelly

What I like about structured menus in the beginning, is that they give you an idea of what to eat and appropriate portion sizes. The kitchen and I can make do, but the relationship is not as easy as I would like it to be. I never joined WW or JC. I joined Healthy Figures. I've been wanted to lose for a while, but never had the will to do something about it until recently.

With their program I lost 10 pounds the first week. That was motivation enough to keep me going. Now it's becoming a life habit. So yeah, I like them, but only to get me started.

I'm very structured. I can normally plan my meals out for the weekdays all in advance. It's only the weekends that are a bit iffy.

I batch cook though so it's pretty easy :)

I also have never followed a specific plan, but I do try to plan my own workouts and menu out for each week or month or whatever I can handle at the time. It really does help me a lot. Something else I have done frequently on here is to log my food the day before so I know what to expect as soon as I wake up in the morning. I usually already know my workout for that day, so I can guesstimate my calorie burn to know how many calories I'll have for the day.

    I love structure!
