Finding non-workout shorts...

Ok, I am having the hardest time finding regular shorts. I don't know what I was expecting. When I was fat, I NEVER wore regular shorts. I would maybe wear capris on a really hot day. I hated my legs.

Now, I live in Japan, so I do most of my shopping online. WHAT HAPPEND TO REGULAR LENGTH SHORTS!! 99% of all the shorts I am finding are either "booty" shorts or knee length bermuda shorts. I do not like shopping in teen sections as I am older, but I am willing to look anywhere to find regular shorts that stop about mid-thigh. I am a mother of small children. I don't want my butt hanging out. I also have relatively recently become a size 6 for the first time in my life and I don't want shorts that go down to my knees.

Where do I buy (online) just simple regular shorts? Help!

I'm about a size 6, as well, and I love Eddie Bauer. They have lots of shorts in the length you're looking for, some in really cute patterns.

if you find out, I would LOVE to know, too! I am a mom and a little too old (I feel) to wear the booty shorts and too young to wear the bermuda shorts, but there doesn't seem to be a happy medium, so I wear jeans or roll my jeans up as capris, even in the HOT Houston weather...
