Am I really starting this post? It's 2:47pm in Atlanta! Where are you guys?

I tried running on the treadmill to see if my hip flexor would hurt. It did. It's almost llike it's getting worse and the pain woke me up last night. I am so NOT happy about this. I have run since last Sunday. I'm going to have to give in and start walking or something. It hurts and I don't want to gain the measly 10 pounds I"ve take 3 months to lose back!!!

Somebody go run for me. Please?

I did order that 30-day shred and another flexibility dvd. Lack of strength training and flexibility probably caused this so... no running for me.

I'm thinking about making doctor's appt but he's going to give me ibprofen and send me to PT where I'll get stretching exercises. I'll wait and see if it keeps getting worse.

I'm here!! Got the ALL CLEAR from my PT to start running again!!! My achilles is healing up nicely thanks to the lovely stretches she's given me!!

So... shooting for 4 miles w/ my buddies tonight!! YIPPEE!

  • So how long were you "out"? Did the stretches really help? <sniff> I'm jealous... but happy for you!

It's been about a month. Yes, the stretches helped a LOT! I recommend going to a PT if you can or google a lot of stretches to try out!! Sorry, I've dealt w/ lot of running injuries (IT band, achilles on & off, Plantar fasciitis), but never hip flexors!!

Jess: Glad you are up and running again
Laura: Best of luck in working out the hip flexor issue.

I am on the first "rest" week of P90X. Can't fit in 90 minutes of yoga BEFORE work, so I ran this morning. Just a slow pace for 3 miles but it felt GOOD!

Now, check papers, grades, put supper in to bake so I can do some yoga

Hi girls! I did 2 miles of a power walk this morning, but no run. I'm super excited, though, because my baby gets his 2 month shots next week on Nov 4th and then I can take him to the gym daycare and every single day I'll get 2 full hours!!!! I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!! It's so hard to predict his schedule right now, so I never know if I'll be able to get a run in or not.

4 miles... DONE!!! And it felt great, no twinges in the achilles. I know that resting and giving it the PT that it needed worked!! So for those that are dealing w/ injuries, just give it time!

Feeling great, love that runners high!

Good job, runnerdad! And thanks, I'm still feeling great after my run last night. Now have to remind myself to take it easy and not jump back into it too quick!
  • Today I choose to run vicariously through Runnerdad! Sound like the best, injury free run!

And I have an appointment with and Orthopedic guy tomorrow. Sheesh.
