not sure. I simply try to stay in my calories and nothing else. Fruit is so good for you and one of the natural sweet things.

I am a Type 2 diabetic, I've been staying under my calorie range and as long as I know I am good on carbohydrates, I don't worry about sugar. The thing that I am more worried about is sodium, I battle high blood pressure as well. I can honestly say though, since I've started following this program, my blood sugar numbers have never been better!
  • I don't know if this helps any buuut...

Sugar is used by the body to process activities. There's different kinds of sugars and some are harder for our body to break down even with exercise (it has to do with the chemistry: Sugar is a carbon compound that is C6H12O6, always. However, it's in HOW these components are put together. If it's in a certain way, your body will not be able to break it down easily. These are the ones you want to avoid the most as when the body cannot use it it either stores it or tries to purge it.)

However, the calculator does NOT seperate these different sugars.

If you are getting sugar from fruits, you should be fine if you're over. Just make sure that you throw in some exercise. However, if you're gaining them from artificial sources, a lot of them can't be broken down.

I guess that's all I have to say. My only three sources is a dietician, a family member who is Hypoglycemic and from taking a Organic Chemistry class.

    Hope this helps o:!
