A pound of body fat equates to approximately 3500 calories. So if you have a calorie deficit of 500 calories (meaning that you burn 500 calories more than you eat each day) you would lose approximately one pound per week:

500 x 7 = 3,500

Yes, while this is true, some of us dont lose it as fast as that unfortunately. I burn 500-700 calories a day, and about a month or so ago I was on a plateau and no matter how many 1000 plus burns of calories a day, 1380 calories, I couldnt lose a single OUNCE, never mind a pound a week. And this with me eating exercise calories back, not eating them back, and eating clean, zig zagging calories..... So while you are right, you are also wrong because everybodys body handles this differently.

cassie: great point. everyones body is different. u were still probably losing fat when you thought u werent though.. one of the biggest mistakes you can make while dieting is stepping on a scale.. sounds silly but its true. you were probably gaining muscle, and u diddnt know it..

Im aware of that, but no one gains muscle that fast. Fat isnt instantly replaced by muscle. It takes months to gain a lot of muscle mass. I was on a plateau, plain and simple. I wish it was that easy. Plateaus happen, unfortunately... :D
