Came across this website while looking for answers to whether I am consuming enough calories or not. I am up at 2:52am; often wake up hungry in the middle of the night after a good workout. I wonder if I am not eating enough during the day, or if because of reactive hypoglycemia it is just necessary to eat after I exercise...hope to figure that one out. Other than that, I am happy to have found a place to track my progress!

Welcome! One thing I have noticed people say is that it is a great idea to eat some protein, like in a protein shake, within an hour of working out. It will help replenish what energy was used in your muscles. If you do this, you should notice a decrease in your hunger... I would think. At least it makes sense to me... But I don't know for sure! :laugh:0

A protein shake after a workout is fantastic primarily for recovery. Take it within about a half an hour of finishing and it will be absorbed very quickly and will help repair the muscles. If you want to take it as a food supplement then obviously you take it everyday but just remember to add it to your calorie count. Make it with milk and this will help to add calories to your diet. Hope this helps:))0
