I used to eat like that?

So my roommate starting MFP the first week of April. Once I saw her initially lose a few pounds, I knew I was not going to let her weigh less than me (I am one of those competitive kinds of people). So I decided to start too. Now, the tables have completely turned, and I have lost almost 25 pounds (YAY!). She lost 10 initially and then fell off the bandwagon. She is my best friend and roommate, so it is very hard to watch her eat sometimes. But then I remember, that I used to eat just like her!!
Let's compare our choices yesterday:
Breakfast, we ate the same thing: 2 eggs with banana peppers/bell peppers/ tablespoon of cheese & 1/2 link Johnsonville Chipotle Chicken Sausage, 12 oz Fat Free Lactose Free Milk ~415 calories
Lunch, Thai Restaurant
Me- Squash Curry ~650 calories
Roommate- Drunken Noodles ~ 650 calories
Dinner, McDonald's (I was running late for class)
Me- 4 piece chicken nugget happy meal (no sauce) with apple dippers (no caramel) and water ~ 225 calories
Roommate- #2 (2 cheeseburgers, medium fry, and sweet tea) ~1160 calories
Snack,
Me- 1 Weight Watchers Latte Bar ~90 calories
Roommate- Corndog ~220 calories & Funnel Cake ~ 760 calories
(she eats these things when she goes out with her boyfriend because I would not even let her buy them)
I am really starting to understand why it is so hard for my sister to lose weight! She has two very active boys (6 and 2) and a husband with the fastest metabolism! She has to cook for them and watch them eat all of that food! But boy doesn't it feel good when the scale reads in our favor!

So true when we look at people eat the way we USEd to eat. It's an eye-opener. I'm like that with my family. I watch them eat a plate full of bbq'd ribs, potato salad dripping in mayo, a burger a hot dog and macaroni salad witha grape soda chaser then a couple of brownies and straIwberry shortcake. Im there eating my grilled veggie kabobs, tossed salad and watermelon and a bottle of water. Yeah, their plates "look" good, but at the end of the day I "look" and feel good.0

Congratulations on the progress you are making.
However, it seems pretty mean to publicly compare yourself to someone else in this manner. Perhaps I am being over empathetic towards your friend, but I wouldn't want to be talked about this way.
If you had a bad eating day, would you want one of your friends to publish it for all the world to see? Probably not since your food diary isn't open to the public! Maybe you can focus on ways to feel good about yourself and get positive attention without drawing attention to another person who may still be struggling.
In the future, I encourage you to post your own successes! They are an achievement in and of themselves, without having to show how you are better than someone else. Or, if you want to make a comparison, compare yourself to your-old-self! Just an idea.0 -
I didn't really mean it like that. I was only comparing how I used to eat (just like her) and how I eat now. I am looking for support in my weight loss. Maybe someone else who has had a best friend who also fell behind and all of a sudden felt all alone in the journey.
Your profile isn't public either. Interesting...0
