Mods- do you really have to delete a thread?

I understand that the cleaning exercise thread was getting a little hostile, but can't you just lock a thread instead of deleting it? There were some very good opinions in there which other may learn from in the future. It may also prevent someone else from posting the same thing if they find that thread when searching for past topic of similar subjects.

If you can't lock a thread, then I guess deleting it is you next best avenue to stop the "meanness", but I hate to see some of the knowledge people could gain by reading it also get wiped away.

***And people, I don't think people post things trying to hurt others feelings. They sometimes just don't think about how their message is going to be received before hitting the post button. Please be kind like many of you were. Anger begets anger.

I second the ending paragraph. Why does everyone have to be so nasty? If you don't like a topic then move on. Down with pretentious thread bullies! :explode:

Dang, I was just looking for that thread because I wanted to know if anyone answered my question. Looks like I missed out on some action!
