So, I weighed myself at both places and weigh 2.5lbs less at the gym with clothes & shoes on than at home right before my shower
Which one is accurate?

You probably would have to go to the doctor to compare, but it doesn't really matter. Just use the same one consistently and measure your loss based on that. It won't make much of a difference in the long run, because it is about how you look anyway, right?0

no idea i think all scales differ i have a ww electroni pair and some normal ones they both weigh me differant by 3lbs stick to 1 set and go with that0

Just stick with one scale, and most importantly, weigh at the same time every day: every morning, after you use the restroom, and before you eat or drink anything. This is your net weight.0

Put something on your scale at home that you know is the correct weight. A dumbbell, a bag of unopened dog food, etc. The scale at my gym is always more then what mine says. Scales at the gym are used hundreds of times and often can be off because they are broken and not calibrated.0

I work for a company that calibrates lab equipment and I can tell you home scales are often incorrect in some small degree.
Over time scales tend to get more and more inaccurate, especially spring scales, (electronic scales fare better). Its best to just pick one and stick to it, it will still tell you if you lost a pound, even if the total weight is off a little. If your scale at home is old, I'd consider getting a new electronic type if possible.0 -
No matter what I always weigh myself with the same scale and in the same clothes. I always felt that accurately tracked my weight loss (or gain) that way.
My gym's scale always weighed people 20lb more. It's a power gym so I don't think it's to make others feel bad about themselves.0 -

I wouldn't weigh yourself every day. Your weight flucuates due to water weight, etc.
OP- Weigh yourself the same day once a week (like Friday) on an empty stomach. Also you should get your bodyfat % measured as well.0 -
Thanks everyone! Ist just that my scale at home (a digi) can be off by a few lbs too. I have to weighyself 3-4 times sometimes, not always, to get the same number twice. And it's only a few yeats old, has new batteries0

Ok if your scale is changing responses when measured many times in a row, time to get a new scale, I would think.0
