Can anyone point me in the direction of any info on stepping on the scales - when you are on the scales weighing yourself - when does that actually represent iykwim - is it the days consumption / exercise or is it the day befores consumption/ exercise ? I try not to weigh myself everyday and just do it once a week but would be interested to know - thanks for any help.

It's almost impossible to answer the original question as so much depends on bowel movements, whether you've just had a big glass of water, etc.0 -
For me it represents the day before as I weigh each morning when I get out of bed after I urinate. Hope that helps.0

I weighed same time - just before I got into bed..... will that therefore be based on what I have eaten and exercised that day or the day before ?
I am just confused as both times it has been 0.2 up on the scales has been after me sticking to my calories and exercising - but on days when I have gone slightly over on my 1200 calories it has been a lose 0.2 down ??
My last two weeks I have over the full week averaged out to staying the same although through the week the scales do go up and down.
I am still on 1200 calories as per recommendation on MFP and I eat back my exercise calories - last week which is the second time I have stayed the same I didnt get any additional exercise in but then as I usually eat my additional calories not sure if this counts....
Anyone any ideas >?0 -
Weight fluctuates daily depending on male/female - mostly water retension. If you're well hydrated, then your weight will fluctuate less. of course, it depends on how full your bladder is, bowell movement, etc.
If I eat a lot of salt one day, my weight the next morning will "spike" up about 6-7 lbs. It will take a couple of days drinking a lot of water to get it back down to where it was.
Normal up/down is to be expected. The best you can do, if you want to weigh every day, is weigh with the same clothes (or none), same time, same scale, same routine (for instance, get out of bed, urinate, weigh) - this is what I do. THEN, you can have some variables the same every day and get a sense for how you're doing. But I chart it, and use a trend line to keep myself honest - or you could average it. However you want to analyze your results.
I put my daily and weekly weight into an excel spreadsheet and make a chart. Notice all the ups & downs - depends on how well I'm sticking to my goals - my target is 1000Cal/day.
