The other day I had to pick up our son from my SIL's house. When I got there SIL told me there was some steak for dinner if I was still hungry.

I went up, spoke to the assorted IL's and then went in for some dinner. Cut off a piece of steak, had some pasta salad and regular salad... ate and went back out. SIL had been talking to a pool install guy and came back over. She went inside, came out and asked if I had eaten. I told her more then enough and that it was delicious. She wasn't sure how much since I only had a little bit of the steak.

After I left and was driving home it hit me.. I did have enough to eat, but since I've gotten so accustomed to eating normal portions, that's all I took. I probably had about 4-5oz of steak with garlic and mushroom sauce, the salads and that was that.

It was a fun little ah-ha moment that let me realize that I have gotten portions under control and I am winning this long battle, lol

such a huge step in the whole process. It is so hard to accept your tummy's "I'm full" when your tongue is saying "MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM GOOOOOD!"

Its funny to realize that YES you did eat too much before and NO you don't need that much food. I had that moment too :) Good for you!
