Is my goal to have 3500 left for the week or just to make it 0?

MFP has already built the proper deficit into your calorie goal, meaning that if you eat the calories MFP gives you, you will lose weight.
Take a look at your Goals tab (from the My Home tab) and it should make more sense.0 -
0 is your goal for the day. The deficit is built in based on how much you said you wanted to lose in a week.0

If you look at the top of your MFP page it shows your Goal (how much food to eat that day) Food (how much food you actually ate that day) less any Exercise = Net. Your daily net should be equal to your goal (in a perfect world) When you exercise, it reduces your net, thus why you are to EAT BACK your exercise calories. This works for some and not for others. Play with it if you see no results, i.e. only eat back 1/2 your exercise calories..etc.
Good Luck!0
