Pain in wrist help

I've noticed that anytime I try to do any body weight exercises using my wrist ( push-ups , bench dips ect) my left wrist really hurts. I have never broken it and don't remember hurting it at all. It's been this way for months for as long as I can remember. I can use weights with no problem. Would wrapping it help at all or should I just try to stick with weights instead.

I had the same problem you did... workedout through the pain and eventually had to have surgery in march.. I am still doing physical therapy to try to get it back to normal... hope I can work out at 100% again one day0

I have a similar issue in my right wrist, its weak thanks to being a base in competitive cheerleading. I will still do some push-ups straight up but I try to hold onto dumbbells when I do them because they help to keep the wrist neutral. It's basically like using the push up bars, and to be honest using them makes the push up harder, which means more burn :-) Whenever pain in the wrist is involved, keeping it as neutral as possible is the best solution. That's why the weights don't bother it. Hope this helps!!0

If the pain starts to worsen, or feeling tingling sensations in the hand/fingers, go to your doctor to have it checked out, may have a pinch nerve, or maybe developing carpal tunnel. I would get it checked just to be on the safe side.0

Thanks for the info, I didn't want to do too much with it because I didn't want to make it worse, I will definitely try the pushups with dumbbells and see if that helps0

yeah whenI used the perfect push-ups that helped relieve some of the pressure, so either dumbbells or perfect push-up0
