Hey everyone:) Like to know when is workingout too much? I workout 6days a week and I burn bout 500 calories a day. I do different workouts everyday like the eliptical, T.V exercise and treadmill at home. I'm I doing too much? To me I think I'm doing just fine.

    If you feel good about it, I think you're doing fine.

    You know that feeling when you're about to pass out if you work out anymore? Go for about 5 more minutes and then that should be enough.

    I think you will know when it is enough because you will be tired and lack luster. Be flexible and honor your deeper feelings and you will be great!

    If you need a day off then take it, if you don't then work out. Be smart about overdoing it because you do need to give muscles time to heal and grow before a new strenuous workout. Just be smart!

    The key to rest days is auto-regulation, in other words; listen to your body because it will tell you when you need a break. Varying your exercise like it seems you're doing will help enable you maintain a higher training frequency.

    As long as you think its not too much. You are the only one that would no that. I think as long as you feel good about it keep going.

    When I'm in the mood I workout for two to two and half hours a day. I do weight traingin and TONS of cardio on those days. Most days I try to burn over 500 calories...lately it's been around 700-800/day. Some weeks I work out for 10-15 hours for the week and I feel GREAT! As long as you feel good I don't think it would be a problem.

    When I first started, I felt like I was slacking if I didn't workout each and everyday. Then I got hurt. Not giving your body proper time to rest, repair, and heal often leads to muscle fatigue that can and often does lead to injury. It may not happen today, tomorrow or even this month - but not giving your body time to recover WILL catch up to you. I ended up with a stress fracture in my hip that kept me out of the gym for almost a month.

    1-2 days a week and an entire week off once every month to 6 weeks is ideal. Your body will thank you for it! :)

    Couldn't agree more, I used to weight train exclusively - i would get burnt out and bored, and have to take naps. I've switched to doing shorter, more intense workouts that involve something different every time and have never had more energy.

    I think it's totally fine... as long as you are getting enough nutrition and enough rest. You def. need more than 1200 cals a day and proper sleep for recovery. I workout in a similar fashion, last week I averaged 534 cals a day (with some days burning as much as 910 cals). However, I make sure I get 7-8 hours of sleep and I eat all of my cals. Food and sleep are KEY to your recovery and progress. Also, make sure you have a day of COMPLETE rest every week.

    Training= work+rest
