What are you referring to specifically? Waxing? Tweezing?

    Hi,
It's the same as waxing, the more regularly you do it the less painful it is. When I epilate my legs for the first time in ages it HURTS!!! But then the pain decreases each time after that as the hairs aren't as imbedded and the hair does get finer. One other thing you can do is have a cool pad. Do a bit, put the cool pad on it. Other than that I can't think of anything.

it gets better the more you do it.

i only use it on my legs tho, as the 2 times i tried under my arms it killed and left them raw and spotty!.

i find its best to do it in the morning (you are supose to have a higher pain tollerance in the morning, but i am not sure if its true!). dont shower etc first. shower afterwards and put cream on after the shower to help calm your legs down. :flowerforyou:

It's not really the same as waxing or tweezing! I have an epilator and OUCH! Its like tweezing and waxing at the same time.

An epilator is a machine that grips and rips the hairs individually and pulls them out. It tweezers hair individually but grips several hairs all at once. I wouldn't want to take a pain killer though just to sort my hairs out.

I would suggest biting the bullet and getting on with it...then use a soothing, non alcoholic based cream containing aloe vera afterwards.

My epilator has an ice pack attached to it which cools the area immediately after the hairs being plucked. Maybe you could ice the areas after you've finished. Remember to wrap a tea towel around the ice so you don't end up with burns.

It should get easier over time. :flowerforyou:

Johnson and Johnson make a liquid that helps numb from cuts and burns, this works pretty well for the pain.

I only meant the same in that the hairs will get finer and hurt less the more you do it. LOL

I know what you mean about the pain. I get bikini waxed and epilate my legs... The waxing is WAAAAY less painful. On the rare occasion I get my legs waxed I've been known to fall asleep while it's being done :embarassed:

Apparently there is an Epilator you can use in the bath. My friend who is a totally wimp and thick hair growth has one. She says it's the best one she has ever had and not painful.

I find it eye wateringly painful to begin with, but after a bit my own painkilling kicks in and I can do my bikini line as well as my legs, and over time it does get much less painful, and keeps the hair away fro longer than shaving and the regrowth is softer too.
