Insanity and Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred are pretty hard core!0

Invest in P90X...It is the ultimate workout (you can do at home) PERIOD.0

in one word
INSANITY0 -
well i dont do the toughest cause i cant do much exercising but i do exercises in the pool :-) i have a crappy back and have had failed surgery. but there are plenty to do.... and swimming is a great exercise in itself. not sure if they sell any dvds .. let me know what ya find out. enjoy your pool0

INSANITY if you want to lose weight. P90X if you want to build muscle. I'm doing INSANITY first to lose extra weight and then will do P90X to get ripped. That is if a 51 year old can get ripped. IDK, I've never tried. This time I will.0

All of my exercise is in the pool! Its way easier for me to move around and doesn't hurt my back or feet Most of my exercise requires two people though because I don't get very motivated by myself. By myself though I find that hopping on and off of one of those pool lounge floats a bunch of times is fun because I'm splashing around and works out my arms and gets me moving If you have someone to swim with I recommend playing marco polo (or a variation where you stay silent and the person has to track you down by the sound of your splashing and vice versa) because it gets you swimming around fast to try to catch the other person! Or play catch in the pool with a basketball and it'll work out your arms a bit. These aren't the most hardcore workouts of course but they've gotten me far more active than I used to be. Not sure if you're in good enough shape where it'd all be too easy or not But if you're in better shape maybe swim laps?0

Good for you Paul!!
I know swimming back and forth, from one side to the other is good. Also hold onto the wall and do some leg lifts. Either facing the wall and kicking backwards or facing away and lifting your legs up and down. The water is resistance so it should not only help you burn cals, but also build some muscle.
I'm curious to see what others do in the pool for exercise!0 -
The most hard core workout by far is: INSANITY
No one else comes close when it comes to cardio.
Another good cardio dvd set is: Turbo Fire
Love it.
If you want to build muscle(big or lean): P90X
Love it too.
If you want something really cheap that you can buy at Walmart: JM 30 Day Shred
I also own JM Maximize-Back in Action & Full Frontal. They are older but very good.
And if you want to try a program that has a disc for everyday of the week but don't want to pay $100, try Supreme 90 Day. Don't buy it off line or over the phone, it's sold in many stores for $20.0 -

I don't swim as much these days because the lap swim fees have climbed over the past year, but doing the breast stroke uses more muscle groups than the other strokes. You won't bulk up by swimming, but it's a good low impact exercise.0 -
For pool exercises:
jumping jacks
hold the side and just kick like crazy
float on your back and while keeping your legs straight, crunch forward and reach for your toes
if you don't touch the bottom, it's get to do the mermaid with feet together and acting like a dolphin
bicycle pedal one direction and then the other
pretend you are doing a cross-country skiing, upright and legs & arms swish back and forth
There's tons more, these are just what I could remember doing a few years back when I was losing so much weight. :0)
Good luck!0
