Goal setting

when I first started setting goals I only focused on weight loss measuring it out on a scale. Later I learned that there was more ti being healthy and decided that in addition to tracking my weight and having weight loss goals I should measure something else. So I started measuring and tracking body fat percentage. And setting a monthly body fat percentage goal in addition to my monthly weight goal. I considered a success as having reached either of the two goals for the month. Now I am thinking about adding a third goal. A performance goal. I'm thinking something like being able to do "x" amount of pushups or being able to run a 5k in a certain amount of time or something along those lines. That would give me a monthly weight goal, body fat% goal, and a performance goal. Meeting any two of those three goals would equal a successful month.

Does anyone else set performance goals and if so what type of stuff do you do?

You sure have the right mindset. All I have right now is extending my home yoga from 20 to thirty minutes at a time.

I'm thinking I will use chin ups as my performance goal right now. I may add an endurance goal like a timed 5k in the future.

I do yearly strength goals. Like this year I'm determined to bench press 200 pounds for 6 sets of 12 reps. I also had one of getting back to squatting 300 pounds for 6 sets of 12 reps after a knee injury last year. I've already achieved that one.

I am really excited about the idea of the performance goal the idea of being able do something that I can't now is really motivatingnto me.
