For the last several weeks, I have been losing the same 2-3 pounds. I don't always eat the healthiest but I am trying to fix that. I have completely eliminated all soda. I have bumped up my exercising from 3 times a week to 5 times a week. I seem to be losing inches because my clothes are fitting better. I haven't measured because I need to go get a measure tape.

I am wondering if this is normal or if I am doing something wrong? My diary is open but as I said I working on eating healthier. Help anyone!

Do you mean each week you're losing 2-3 pounds? Or, that you're stuck and it fluctuates up and down 2-3 pounds?

I so understand cause I am in the same boat, keeping losing same 2 pounds, but one of my MFP friends said i should try and cut on carbs for a few weeks.. so tomorrow morning I will be starting cutting carbs... just a suggestion and I will keep you informed if it helps me, if you want.. Best of luck

Two to three pounds is awesome!! You do not want to loose more than that, one pound is actually the healthiest...Sounds like you are doing well!

Glancing at your diary I think the biggest contributor would be the very high sodium amounts you get in fast food, which you should make your diary track, that on top of the fact that you aren't drinking even 8 servings of water will make your body bloat again and again. Drink ~12-14 servings of water if you're going to eat fast food!

Over the years I've found that just lowering calories by itself is never enough. How much exercise are you getting? Perhaps walking for half an hour four times a week might help get you out of your rut. Sometimes it's just your body. It's actually losing inches instead of pounds. Also not only watching your sugar content but also your sodium contact might help. Good luck!

I will weigh 2-3 pounds less one week...then the next week I'm back up to where I was at before I lost the weight.

I have realized that. It's so hard to change eating habits. I am slowly getting better. I am trying to conquer one of them at a time. I also have not been one to like water....no flavor. I got some crystal light to add to my water so that hopefully it will encourage me to drink more.

My only thought on this is the sodium. Turn on the sodium tracker in your food diary to help you track it better. If you can't see it visually, you may not realize and be able to make the change as well and quickly as you would be able to if you see the numbers.

Turn the sodium tracking on, at least until you get into a routine that keeps your sodium under control. That will probably help you out a lot!

Good job with logging honestly and moving towards healthier eating choices!

So, after browsing your food diary, I would say a couple of things right off the bat:

    1) Try to eat breakfast every day. It really helps keep you more full throughout the day! I try to get 1/4 to 1/3 of my total calories at breakfast. You'll need a smaller lunch and dinner, but you also won't be as hungry!

    2) Drink water!!! This is soooooooo important. Try getting a 24 ounce water bottle - then you only have to fill it three times the whole day to get all of your water! (Though you should have more when you workout and sweat...) You will feel more energetic, your skin will be clearer, your memory will be better, you'll lose weight more quickly...drink water!!!

    3) Vegetables!!! As a general rule, the brighter/richer the color of the vegetables, the more nutrients in them - so lettuce or lima beans do not have many nutrients, but green/red peppers, broccoli, carrots, etc do!! ("Salad mixes" from the grocery store generally don't have that many nutrients - not many calories, either, which is good, but one of the good things about vegetables are the vitamins and minerals that help your body run more efficiently!!)

Good luck - you are off to a great start!

Great job on eliminating the soda. A major NSV!! A big thanks to your hubby for all he does as well!
I cannot get access to your diary, so I don't know what you are eating. You've lost a significant amount of weight to date - Awesome achievement.

I have read that the zig-zag diet or caloric cycling diet works well for those close to their goal weight to help them lose those elusive extra pounds. It's where you eat say 1200 cals/day for 2-3 days, then increase to 1500cals/day x1 day then back to 1200 cals/day for 2-3 days - etc, etc (choose the caloric goal appropriate for you)

You trick your body into believing it's getting plenty of nutrients so it doesn't mind letting go of the extra fat storage. Kind of like jump-starting your weight loss again. My doc agrees it may work for me b/c I lost 24 pounds quickly, then plateaued. I still have 20-30 lbs I'd like to lose. I didn't exercise regularly but did manage to maintain a decent diet and I lost 5 more pounds. Your body is weird that way.

Is the dietary change difficult due to work/home life or just old habits?? I would address that first. If you are trying avoidance of the foods you love and then "fail", try rewarding yourself 1-2 x weekly with a meal that you love and eat healthy for the reminder of the week. If you feed your body good fuel, it will reward you by eliminating the grime. Most of my weight loss came with dietary changes. I used to crave anything fried and anything crispy. I still crave the crunch, but I no longer want fried foods. I turn to healthier veggies, wasabi-flavored almonds (love spice), or flavored pits chips and salsa/hummus.

Don't give up or give in. You have done an amazing job so far. Just shake things up a bit and see what happens. I'd be happy to support you or just be here for you!

I would say quit the fast food bc it has so much sodium and also often contains partially hydrogenated oils (trans fats). PHOs are SOOOOOO bad for us and they prevent us from losing weight! Read your labels too bc PHOs are everywhere. be careful and keep your chin up!

    blessings.
