I work in a hospital and I am usually very busy, by the end of my night weather I got a chance to eat diner or not I am starving!!! I need some ideas for healthy snacks/meals that will keep me feeling full so I don't go home and have a gigantic bowl of cereal kill my cals for the day and go to bed (
wonder who did that today?)
*We only have a microwave. & a toaster to cook with @ work
*I am a vegetarian
Thank for your input

I work in a medical clinic so eating with your bare hands isn't always sanitary (or safe) during the work shift. I tend to pack a nut mix with soy nuts or other goodies on sale in a little baggie that I can pour into my mouth quickly. I don't have to have but 3 minutes to snack so I can keep going and it's a great excuse to drink some water; another thing I forget to do in the rush of the day. I control how much I put into the baggie so I don't over do it when I'm rushed. When I don't have time to gather the ingredients, I'll pick up the Planters 100 cal packs. Hope that helps!0

almonds are always a good snack, you can have a couple here and there and get some good stuff in ya. Chicken stix are good too. not store bought ones with bread and that, but just a nice chicken breast cut into small bite size pieces. Something you can just grab one or two bites when you get a chance. Clinic life can be tough with no time to eat anything so you have to have healthy choices that you can just grab and go.0

I dont work in a clinic but a jail.... sometimes its not bad...but there can be times im crazy busy... i usually try to keep fiber 1 bars (100 cal) in my kit bag or other 100 cal snacks. also will have cucumbers, blueberries, strawberries, that i can grab a handful at a time when i can0

i work nights too at a hospital. i know how it is being busy and not being able to eat.
this is what i do...i bring almonds with me to snack on here and there. also at the end of my shift i may eat a greek yogurt.
i pack easy fast fixable lunches..pop in the micro and eat. many a times i will bring a peanut butter and jelly sandwich..now i know it may not sound healthy, but it is..i use all natural peanut butter, whole grain no sugar bread, and no sugar jelly. its got carbs and peanut butter to make it stick for a while.
thats just what i do.0 -
