Get pregnant, haha!!
No really, that was me being silly, although when I was pregnant I felt like Rapunzel.
Up your protein intake -- any increase in growth will probably be pretty limited, though, but good luck!0 -
all i eat is protein ha! thanks though X0

I use an all purpose mutli vitamin, silica, kelp all are general healthy nail and hair enhancers, I also use selenium, but if you go to your local health store they can advise you as to a specific complex tailor made like mine with individual products or a pre mixed properties - there are products made for nail and hair health
Massage when washing and conditioning hair, treat it with respect, try not to use heat products too much and let your hair dry naturally as much as possible, Find a light shampoo and conditioner which is specific to your hair type. Never brush dry hair and always use a wide tooth comb on wet hair.
A good well balanced diet also helps.0 -
While it seems pregnancy makes it grow, it is actually the prenatal vitamins that make the hair and even nails grow. You can take a good multivitamin or even popping some flintstones or kiddo gummies because they have the same amount of everything as the prenatal pills. Drs actually recommend kid vits like flintstones for mommies that can't swallow pills or can't stomach the prenatals.0

The prenatal vitamins work for me. Since one of our stores gives prenatals for free, my doctor gives me a yearly prescription and I take a prenatal everyday. My hair and nails have been growing like crazy! No joke!0

good fats like Olive Oil. My hair was brittle and yucky before I changed my eating habits. Took about 3 months, but the difference was visable.
Now I wear it long and love it!0 -

I second this. I used to have my hair down to my butt, lol. I'm growing it out again (it's just past mid back length). Health and lack of heat on your hair will really help.0 -
Wow! Good to know. Prenatal vitamins. I was wondering the same thing about hair growth.0

Biotin is highly recommended for hair growth. I take it every day and my hair has gotten thicker and is growing faster. There are also vitamins available that are specifically for skin, hair, and nails. I got them at Walmart for like $8.0

Biotin. Works wonders. You can get it in the regular vitamin aisle.0

The others are right, prenatal vitamins are awesome for hair growth. Taking a gelatin supplement is also great -- I don't think it will make your hair grow faster, but it always made mine thicker and glossier (which is why I stopped taking them, because my hair is thick enough ). Good stuff, that gelatin.0

Thanks everyone, I have some Multivitamins with Iron in so im going to start taking them again, and im going to find out about folic acid/ prenatal vitamins.

I was just talking about this to the dermatologist at work. According to her, the research on this working is small... However, she still recommends it to patients and has had wonderful results. But it is important to take the proper dose, 5000 mcg per day, otherwise it is just a waste of money.
Another tip..... Be sure to trim your hair every 8 weeks. They just need to take off the ends, most likely less than a Cm at a time. It doesn't make the hair grow faster, but it does prevent split ends which will make the hair APPEAR that it is not growing. Hair grows regularly, but if the ends are not healthy and they split, it will SEEM as though it is not growing.
And of course a healthy, balanced diet, proper hydration, and exercise are the basis for everything always.0
