Decided to shake up my exercise a bit or was that a bit much

I spend a considerable amount of time on the treadmill, elliptical, and stationary bike. Then I really enjoy long walks/hikes out doors. I've been doing this exercise thing since January 2010. It started out slow or should I say pitiful.
I remember jumping on the StairMaster for 5 minutes. Then slowly stepping off and nonchalantly walking over to the trash can and begging myself not to throw up. I thought hmmm, let's do this a bit more slowly. I looked at the Elliptical for a minute and thought too much like the StairMaster. So I head to the treadmill where I did all of 2.3 mph. Well eventually that speed increased to 3 mph, then 3.2, 3.5, and now over 4. In between time I finally got the nerve to use the Elliptical. What a bun worker that is. It took a while but I finally was able to do over 5 miles in 60 minutes.
So what's next on the untried machines. There it was the lonely and seldom used rowing machine. So I announce to myself I'm going to do 10,000 meters on that thing. Now I've touched it before and did 2,000 meters in 11 minutes. So I figure 55 minutes. I settle in mentally for the long haul. At 100 meters that is 1% complete. Well that's going to make a long journey. So I start calculating at 5% completion points. To jazz it up some I try getting under 2 minutes per 500 meters several times. Then as time goes I try to just get into the 2 min 10 sec. per 500 meters time frame. My arms get strained, my hands are cramping, my back hurts, and my shoulders are feeling it. I try to focus on my abs a bit as well. I forge on. Since there's no place to set my iphone I can't listen to my music. I try watching the cars go by. I sure hope they aren't making fun of me, a big dorf in the window. Eh, who cares. Eventually I finish. I'm proud. That is 6.24 miles in 51 minutes. Then I hit the stationary bike for 25 minutes and ta-da, I'm done.
That was Friday, today I wake up and I can't move. I crashed early last night as well. In fact I struggled all day yesterday trying to clean the house and cook dinner. My arms and my shoulders are stiff and reluctant to do anything.
I think Ben Hur and I are one. If not in size at least in spirit.

lol... congrats on completely your goal. I laying low these days... my legs have been hurting for a while (they always hurt, but this is worse). I'm thinking some sort of weird flu... but I'm really tired of it. I wish I had your ambition. Outstanding worth ethic.0
