NSV? I don't think so....

So I used to go on my elliptical quite often before I was really in any sort of shape. I hated every minute of it. I even nick-named it "The Beast"! I couldn't breathe and felt like I was going to die everytime I got on. I haven't gotten on in a long time and today we brought it back in the house from being stored in the garage.

Well, guess what?? It was actually rather easy! I couldn't beleive it! I never remember it being that easy! I still worked up a sweat and got my heart rate up semi high. But the real kicker is that I just did a quick 20 minute workout and the machine read 312 cals. I know what it feels like now to burn that and I was POSITIVE there was no way I even came close. I looked at my HRM and calories burned?? 130!!!

So that is why this truly was not a NSV for me. I guess that while I must be in better shape, I did a 20 minute program on the thing and only burned 130 calories. I think I could burn more cleaning the house!

You are small and in excellent physical condition! I would call that a huge NSV!!! Maintaining your cardiorespiratory fitness is important, so I guess you'll have to increase resistance or time.....btw, Congratulations!! :drinker:

I agree, I have noticed it is getting harder to maintain my calorie burns on my elliptical, that does mean you're getting in shape. Way to go. Ellipticals are hard to get used to but when you do, you'll fall in love with them. I know I did.

Glad you have a HRM  It is showing what you really burn.

This really is an NSV, You wiped the floor with that thing.

Last time you were on it and you struggled you probably did burn nearer the 300 cal, but now you are fighting fit it onl takes 130 cal so less wear and tear on your heart.

    It is all good:happy:
