Just curious if there is anyone out there that has tried this? If so, have you been successful? I've lost 84 lbs. since January 11th and have been on a plateau and can't bust through no matter what I do. Had a major "shock day" yesterday and hoping the scale shows a break through on Friday.

Hiya! I tried it, and I can tell you it's definitely NOT for everyone (me included). It's extremely strict and if you follow it to the T (supplements included) it can get quite expensive. Whilst I lost weight in the first couple of weeks, I began to plateau from the increased intake in sodium, which mainly came from the copius amount of canned beans I was eating.

Like any diet however, I know it has a dedicated group of followers and I'm sure many of these people have had success with it. If nothing else, the book is an interesting read and there is no doubt he has done some considerable research which is worth a look anyway.

So for me, it was a big no. If you want to try something but with (in my opinion) a little more flexibility, I would reccomend the Paleo diet.

    :)

I'm not using canned beans, but buying dried beans and cooking my own and therefore can control the sodium in them. I am eating whatever veggies and protein I want. I am only doing this to kick myself off a plateau. We shall see, it's only my first week.

Ah wonderful well I hope that helps. I'm not really one to rag on diets, everyone should do what they need to do. Good luck!

I know you weren't ragging on the diet. I'm glad you lost some initially. I want to just get the scale moving again and don't plan to sticking to this for an extended period of time.

Something that helped shift me when I plateaued (I lost a lot of weight before starting on MFP) was drinking liquid chlorophyll. Have you tried this?
